Programs and Events
Three events will lead players into Rokugan at their local game store, starting with a Launch Party using 30-card decks on the weekend of the Core Set's release. Then, following the first Winter Court World Championship, the Imperial Summons event will introduce newly dedicated exclusive clan roles. The last of these events, Way of the Rings, will be players’ first taste of a fun and competitive tournament!
Each November, the Emperor attends Winter Court with the clan that has won his favor. Prizes and decorations at the World Championship will be themed to that clan in celebration. The tournament's top finisher from each clan will determine their clan’s Keeper or Seeker role for the following year. The World Champion will be declared Shogun, and make a critical Story Choice that will influence the very future of Rokugan!
The Great Clans of Rokugan constantly vie for superiority, trying to claim a valuable asset and the favor of the Emperor throughout the Toshi Ranbo Season of the Kotei Series. These prestigious tournaments are held at locations around the world, summoning players from far and wide by offering incredible prizes and fun experiences. The very best players at each event will be awarded the title of Hatamoto, eternalizing their performance and earning recognition for themselves and their clan at future events. Top performers earn a personal invitation to the Winter Court—the World Championship—and Grand Kotei champions win travel and accommodations!
In-store play kicks off with the Battle for the Stronghold, which grants players the opportunity to seize control of their local game stores for their favorite clan. Each calendar quarter, starting at the beginning of 2018, participating local game stores can purchase a Stronghold Kit to host in-store events with official prizes. Reinforcement Kits provide additional copies of the custom cards from the associated Stronghold Kit, allowing retailers to host larger events or to offer even more events with official prizes. Retailers can visit our instructional page for more information on how to get involved. They can select from our recommended Weekly Play or Monthly Play structures, or choose a different structure altogether. Each quarter also features a special bonus event, ranging from new player nights to challenging championships.
