Fantasy Flight Games is excited to reveal the first of eight events in our recently announced X-Wing™ System Open Series, the Hoth™ Open!

Taking place at AdeptiCon 2016, March 31st-April 3rd, the Hoth Open will be a thrilling stop on the System Open Series, which culminates with the Coruscant™ Invitational at the Star Wars™ Celebration 2016 in London, UK, July 15th-17th.

As the main tournament, the Hoth Open will take place over the course of three days, Thursday through Saturday, and contend for the title of largest X-Wing tournament ever. In addition, we will be hosting a number of other tournaments throughout the convention giving players something to do every day they’re attending!

What is the Hoth Open?

The Hoth Open is a tournament in the X-Wing System Open Series. It is a premier tournament open to any player attending AdeptiCon. Playing in the Hoth Open does not restrict or benefit a player in regards to playing in any of the other Opens.

What is the Structure of the Hoth Open?

The Hoth Open will consist of two initial, independent days of gameplay, followed by a third day of gameplay and the Top 8 elimination rounds. While space remains, players can choose which day of initial Swiss rounds they wish to play in: Thursday, March 31st or Friday, April 1st. At the end of each initial day, all players with 18 or more tournament points over six Swiss rounds will be invited to come back for the final day of the Hoth Open, Saturday, April 2nd.

Saturday will see a smaller group of players compete in three rounds of Swiss before the cut to Top 8 players for elimination rounds. For purposes of pairings and determining the Top 8, a player’s tournament points will carry over from their initial day to the final day.

What are the Prizes for the Hoth Open?

Any player who plays in the Hoth Open will receive a new alternate art card. This article details all of the amazing prizes that players will be competing for. In addition, the winner will win an invitation to the Coruscant Invitational, with travel, hotel accommodation, and a three-day pass to Star Wars™ Celebration 2016 in London, UK, July 15th-17th!

What Other Events Can I Play In?

In addition to the Hoth Open, FFG will be running a number of other tournaments for our Star Wars™ games. We will be debuting Hanger Bay side tournaments for X-Wing during the Hoth Open, hosting both a Star Wars™: Armada and Star Wars™: Imperial Assault tournament, and running an X-Wing team tournament featuring huge ships. With multiple tournaments each day, there will always be something to do!
