Prepare for the End of the World
New Call of Cthulhu FAQ and Tournament Rules are Available
One can never know exactly when the world will end, but those with knowledge of the ancient, unstoppable forces from beyond space and time must always be prepared. If the stars align and an investigator is ready, they may even be able to bring about a new era of peace, locking the Ancient Ones away from our planet for a time.
Whether you’re working to bring about or prevent the end of the world, check out our updated Call of Cthulhu: The Card Game FAQ (pdf, 13.4 MB) so that you’ll be prepared in case the time comes. The tournament rules (pdf, 4.4 MB) have not been updated and can be found on the Call of Cthulhu page of our website.
These changes will go into effect on October 28th, 2015.
A Word from the Developer
Hello cultists!
We have before us the the last official World Championship for Call of Cthulhu: The Card Game and a new FAQ to go with it. This FAQ introduces a few minor changes to the metagame leading up to this event. The Restricted List has had a minor tweak with The Black Dog (Words of Power, 29) coming off and Uroborus (Written and Bound, 3) being added on. Pervasive Toxemia (The Thousand Young, 34) has received the errata, “Cannot be canceled.” A few questions that had been submitted in multiple forms through our Rules Question link have been addressed, addressing timing of response effects, copying effects, and play restrictions.
Enjoy the game, and I cannot wait to see who is left standing when the stars are right and the final champion is named. Best of luck to all of you.
