A New Legacy

Star Wars: Destiny Legacies Is Available Now

"At last we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi. At last we will have revenge. "

–Maul, Star Wars: The Phantom Menace

A young rebel pilot takes a shot that destroys the dreaded Death Star. A First Order Stormtrooper breaks free of his conditioning. A Jedi Knight takes on a young boy as his apprentice. These actions have reverberated throughout the galaxy, cementing these characters' legacies in the Star Wars saga.

Fantasy Flight Games is proud to announce Legacies, a new set of booster packs for Star Wars™: Destiny, as well as the Luke Skywalker Starter Set , the Boba Fett Starter Set,  are now available from your local retailer or our website!

With new mechanics, new card types, and new characters, what will what is your legacy be?

The Doctor Is In

The scoundrels and scum of the universe care little about their legacy. Most times they are simply concerned with making a profit or surviving another day. Often, though, it is these characters who get swept up in the epic saga of good and evil, whether by choice or not.

Doctor Aphra  (Legacies, 20) was an archeologist during the time of the Galactic Civil War, recruited by Darth Vader to serve as a secretive ally. Always somehow finding herself in harm’s way, Doctor Aphra is the perfect introduction to Indirect Damage in Star Wars: Destiny. The    symbol represents indirect damage, and triggering it forces an opponent to deal that much damage to their characters, distributed as they wish. Not only can Doctor Aphra deal indirect damage to your opponent, any time you would deal indirect damage to yourself through card effects, you get to draw a card. With her affinity for droids giving you a discount when playing them, Doctor Aphra can make a great support character when needed.

The extremist leader Saw Gererra  (Legacies, 49) was instrumental in the early days of the Rebellion, playing a part in discovering the weakness hidden in the Death Star. Despite his more extreme methods, Saw Gerrera’s legacy is one of heroics and sacrifice for the dream of freedom. In Star Wars: Destiny, Saw Gerrera’s methods translate to indirect damage and disruption to your opponent’s hand. At twelve points for a normal version or sixteen for an elite, Saw Gerrera is a powerful, damage dealing character.

Generations

Blue Heroes and Villains get a boost of new tools in Legacies. Specifically, two characters who have battled throughout generations. Before the Clone Wars even began, Obi-Wan Kenobi (Legacies, 32) and Maul (Legacies, 2) dueled in the Theed Royal Palace. While Obi-Wan Kenobi eventually stood victorious, both Force users’ lives were changed forever.

Obi-Wan Kenobi lost his Jedi Master, Qui-Gon Jinn, and took Anakin Skywalker as his apprentice. Wielding his iconic Lightsaber  (Legacies, 37), this young version of Obi-Wan Kenobi enters Star Wars: Destiny with fifteen points for a normal version or nineteen for an elite. Obi-Wan can also pilot his iconic ship, the ETA-2 Interceptor (Legacies, 34) to help ensure your opponent’s supports stay locked down. Removing a die showing a shield is no issue for Blue Heroes, and the ability to exhaust an opponent’s support could potentially damage their entire game plan.

After his duel with Obi-Wan, Maul found himself on a path of vengeance and hatred. Gravely injured and abandoned by his former master, Maul was driven mad with thoughts of vengeance. Maul enters Destiny with this vengeance on his mind, removing dice any time one of his dice is removed. His famed Double-Bladed Lightsaber  (Legacies, 8) presses his advantage if you can eliminate all shields from your opponent’s characters, and his ability to Frighten  (Legacies, 78) can surprise your foes, exposing their weakness.

On the planet of Tatooine, these two ancient rivals would meet one last time, years later, their legacies finally coming full circle with one final battle. The Blue cards in Legacies can be previewed here.

The Front Lines

The legacy of battle is at the core of Star Wars. Heroes are always standing up for what they believe in, even if it means taking up arms. The Stormtrooper FN-2187 overcame his conditioning, broke free from the First Order and became Finn, Soldier of Necessity  (Legacies, 39). Finn has the ability to move damage from one card to another. While previously, this meant from one character to another, Legacies introduces supports that can take damage for a variety of reasons. The Resistance Bomber (Legacies, 43) is a powerful support that has limited uses due to the damage placed on it. However, with Finn, you can extend the usefulness of the Bomber, removing damage from it and delivering it to your enemies.

Grand Moff Tarkin's (Legacies, 12) legacy lies in the dreaded Death Star. Overseeing its construction, Tarkin commanded the most terrifying weapon in the galaxy. When the dice are rolled in Tarkin’s favor, he can turn them into a devastating blast of indirect damage. Tarkin commanded legions of soldiers, and these characters can be pushed to their limit with Command Bridge  (Legacies, 91), a support that invites you to activate two non-unique characters in a single action.

Launching alongside Legacies will be two brand-new starters sets for Star Wars: Destiny; the Luke Skywalker Starter Set and the Boba Fett Starter Set. Both decks feature twenty cards and represent the perfect starting point for new players eager to get into Star Wars: Destiny.

The Luke Skywalker Starter Set features this  Unlikely Hero (Legacies, 31) teaming up with Han Solo  (Legacies, 46) during their early adventures. This Blue and Yellow deck focuses on ranged damage and features strong Yellow events supplemented by Blue affinity for manipulating dice.

The Boba Fett Starter Set features Boba Fett  (Legacies, 19) and a Veteran Stormtrooper (Legacies, 13). This Red and Yellow deck focuses on supplementing powerful Yellow events with the pure firepower of Red cards. Both decks focus on ranged damage, and can be previewed here!
