The Exhibit Has Arrived
The revised edition of The Curse of the Dark Pharaoh is now available
An ancient curse has fallen on Arkham. It is whispered that some of the strange artifacts on display as part of the “Legacy of the Pharaohs” exhibit have vanished, and those who seek these treasures find nothing but unspeakable horrors. Meanwhile, a dark and mysterious figure, garbed in ancient Egyptian raiments, has been seen roaming the streets. This man, it is said, is a living curse to all he encounters. Fear grips the city, and it falls to a small group of investigators to stop the supernatural evil that creeps through the streets of Arkham.
The revised edition of The Curse of the Dark Pharaoh, an expansion for Arkham Horror, is now available at your local retailer and on our webstore! An ancient curse has fallen on Arkham, and it is rumored that several mysterious artifacts have gone missing from the “Legacy of the Pharaohs” museum exhibit. Unfortunately, anyone who seeks these lost treasures finds only horror and madness.
Ancient Whispers
The Curse of the Dark Pharaoh (Revised Edition) lets Arkham Horror players explore ancient powers through Exhibit Item and Exhibit Encounter cards. Exhibit Items are legendary relics of the mysterious past, able to aid investigators in their fight against the Ancient One, and Exhibit Encounter cards let players search for Exhibit Items specifically. In the original Curse of the Dark Pharaoh, players could only acquire Exhibit Items through random encounters. However, in this new edition, there is a more direct way to get your hands on these cherished artifacts.
The Ancient Whispers marker moves around Arkham, representing rumors and reports pertaining to the museum’s missing exhibit items. Investigators who encounter this marker will draw cards from the Exhibit Encounter deck, potentially finding a powerful weapon or spell. However, strange events often befall all who seek these mystical artifacts, so do not pursue them heedlessly...
The Crawling Chaos Arrives
The revised edition of The Curse of the Dark Pharaoh includes a Herald sheet for the Pharaoh himself, the Avatar of Nyarlathotep. His dangerous presence makes it more challenging for investigators to uncover the secrets of his artifacts and origins. While his curse affects the town, players will slowly be driven insane by acquiring his wicked relics.
The Law Comes to Arkham
In light of the strange events happening around Arkham, the police have begun to take notice. No longer can investigators stroll through neighborhoods brandishing their guns and occult paraphernalia without repercussion. Certain Event cards now cause Patrol Markers to be placed on the board, which represent patrol cars keeping a close eye on the neighborhood. Investigators will need to sneak by or risk being arrested.
Benefits and Detriments
On top of these new additions, The Curse of the Dark Pharaoh (Revised Edition) also contains Benefit and Detriment cards, which provide investigators with good and bad lingering effects.
