The Hills of Emyn Muil demand your fellowship commit to their quest in force each turn to inspect the treacherous hills and mires for signs of Gollum. If you don’t commit multiple characters to the quest, you’ll likely lose ground; Gollum is a slippery creature, and his trails can lead through any of Emyn Muil’s many hidden locations. However, when you do commit heavily to the quest, you leave yourself vulnerable to the enemies lurking around each bend, or concealed behind large boulders.

While time doesn’t tick away in The Hills of Emyn Muil as it did during A Journey to Rhosgobel , time is not on your side. Each turn you conduct your search across hills and streams, Gollum keeps moving. While he keeps moving, the number of possible locations in which he could be hidden increases and increases.
